TUITION

I am a qualified and experienced teacher and before starting my business Soul Fired Ceramics I taught secondary and further education.  I loved teaching and I love pottery, so combining these two things seemed a very natural and positive progression.

I offer individual tuition and small group courses where you can learn and develop a range of skills including throwing, hand-building and glaze techniques whilst also experiencing the theraputic benefits of pottery.

I prefer to keep my group pottery courses small, a max of 4 people per session, in order to be able to give each person the individual tuition, support and encouragement to gain the skills and confidence to create their own pottery designs.

All tuition, equipment, tools, materials and kiln firings are included.  Please wear clothes you won't mind getting mucky and bring an apron.  Refreshments will be provided.

All workshops take place at my purpose-built home studio in the village of Winterslow near Salisbury.

WORKSHOPS

TASTER WORKSHOP

3-hour workshops for 2-4 people -  £65 per person

During this taster workshop you will be given tuition in handbuilding and/or throwing techniques on the pottery wheel.  Two of your pots will be bisque fired and glazed in a celadon glaze.

This will be ready to collect approximately 3-4 weeks after your workshop.

TASTER POTTERY EXPERIENCE

2 x 3hr session course for 2-4 people - £120 per person

During this short course you and a friend (or friends) will experience the complete pottery process from making to glazing.  In the first session you will learn techniques in handbuilding and/or throwing on the pottery wheel. 

Your pots will be bisque fired ready for your second session when you will glaze your pots.

Your glazed pots will be ready for collection approximately 3 weeks after your final session.

5 WEEK POTTERY COURSE

5 x 3hr sessions (4 spaces) - £200 per person

This course will give you more time to put into practice a range of techniques and skills you have learnt in pottery making and glazing. 

10 WEEK POTTERY COURSE 10 x 3hr sessions (4 spaces) - £300 per person This course provides regular weekly sessions to enable you to learn, practise and develop a range of pottery making and glazing techniques. This course is usually held during term time but dates can be arranged to suit if there is a group of at least 2 people.
